(b) Give the applications of the following types of cables:

1. Coaxial cable
2. Optical cable

5. (a) Define the term “HDLC”. What are various modes of HDLC?

(b) Describe time division multiplexing. How is it different from frequency division multiplexing?

6. (a) Differentiate circuit switching and packet switching.

(b) Elaborate X.25 in detail.

7. Write short notes on any two of the following:

1. Switch and Router
2. Wireless transmission
3. Twisted cables
